In a website citation, which part typically follows the URL?

After the URL, the date you accessed the page is typically included, in parentheses. This records when you consulted the content because online material can change over time, and the access date helps readers verify the exact version you used. In Bluebook-style citations, you would see something like http://example.com/page (last visited Jan. 5, 2024). The publisher or version isn’t the standard element that follows the URL in this format; those details may appear elsewhere in the citation if applicable, but the date of access is the piece that commonly comes immediately after the URL to anchor the citation in time.
